Rotala macrandra – Premium Red Stem Plant With Intense Coloration
Rotala macrandra is one of the most stunning and sought-after red plants in the aquarium hobby. Known for its vibrant ruby red to deep pink leaves, this stem plant brings dramatic color contrast to any aquascape. Its delicate, rounded leaves and bushy growth pattern make it a true showpiece in high-tech planted tanks.
This species thrives under strong lighting, CO₂ injection, and nutrient-rich fertilization, especially iron. When conditions are ideal, Rotala macrandra develops its signature intense red coloration and compact growth. While slightly more demanding than other Rotala species, it rewards aquascapers with some of the most vivid reds found in freshwater planted tanks.
