Pygmy Cory (Corydoras pygmaeus) – Tiny, Peaceful, and Perfect for Nano Tanks
The Pygmy Cory (Corydoras pygmaeus) is one of the smallest members of the Corydoras family and a favorite among aquarists with nano and planted aquariums. These charming little catfish grow to just about 1 inch in length and are known for their peaceful nature, playful schooling behavior, and bottom-cleaning habits.
Unlike most Corydoras species that stay near the substrate, Pygmy Cories will often swim in the midwater column in groups, adding constant activity and interest to aquascapes. They thrive in large shoals and are happiest when kept in groups of six or more.

Pygmy Cories are extremely peaceful and do well in community tanks with small fish such as tetras, rasboras, and guppies. They are also safe with shrimp and snails. Best kept in shoals of 6 or more, they are active, social, and make excellent nano tank residents. Their habit of exploring both the bottom and middle levels of the tank makes them especially unique among Corydoras.
