Details
The Sun Nerite Snail is a striking freshwater algae-eating snail known for its vibrant golden-yellow shell with dark spiral or sunburst markings. This hardy and peaceful invertebrate is one of the best natural algae cleaners for freshwater aquariums. Unlike many other snails, Nerite Snails will not reproduce in freshwater, making them ideal for display tanks without the risk of overpopulation.
Description
The Sun Nerite Snail (Neritina sp.) is highly valued for both its beauty and utility. Its bold yellow and black patterned shell adds contrast and movement to planted tanks, nano aquariums, and community setups. These snails are tireless algae grazers, feeding on green spot algae, film algae, and diatoms on glass, rocks, driftwood, and décor.
They are completely peaceful and safe with shrimp, small fish, and planted aquascapes. While they may lay small white eggs, these eggs will not hatch in freshwater aquariums.
