Dwarf Sag (Sagittaria subulata) – Hardy Grass-Like Carpet Plant for Freshwater Aquariums
Dwarf Sag, also known as Sagittaria subulata, is a hardy, grass-like aquarium plant popular for creating lush foreground carpets and meadow-style aquascapes. Its narrow, bright green leaves spread quickly through runners, forming a dense and natural-looking aquatic lawn.
This plant is extremely beginner-friendly and can thrive in a wide range of tank conditions. Under medium to high light, Dwarf Sag stays shorter and spreads faster. In lower light, it may grow slightly taller but remains a compact and attractive plant. Its durability makes it suitable for community tanks, shrimp tanks, and even with mild plant-nipping fish.
